In The Beginning…

It all started in May of 2017, when I was trying to come up with a good subject for the final project in my college Technical and Business Writing class. Our assignment was to write a project proposal, and based on that proposal, make an instruction manual detailing how to complete that particular project. So, I got the creative juices flowing and started brainstorming to try to come up with a fun topic. After a few hours, the idea finally came to me. How about instructions on how to start a blog? Prior to this assignment, I was already sort of interested in starting one. But what would it even be about? I didn't think people would be interested in just reading a bunch of my random thoughts on various subjects!
 
I wanted the blog to be something fun or interesting that I would actually enjoy writing about, like a favorite hobby or activity. The rest of that night, I searched online for other blogs to try to get more ideas and ran across a lot of really nice photo blogs. Then, the light bulb finally came on! I've always been interested in photography as well, so what better time to start a photography blog? I racked my brain for quite some time trying to think of a good name, but it seemed like all the cool and creative names were taken. After already spending hours online, I just wanted to get it up and running as quickly as possible. So, I put my name on it - Justin Means Photography!

 

 

Since then, I've learned quite a bit about photography and blogging, although I admit, I still have a LOT to learn. I posted several blogs about my travels while serving in the U.S. Navy, and various other photo excursions, but the site and blog never really took off. A few weeks later, a new idea was born.
 
A New Family Website?
 
I really wanted to include my parents in this whole endeavor as well, since they originally planted the idea in my head of starting a photo blog way before my school assignment ever did. I may be a tad bit biased, but they both have a really good eye for photography! My dad was an interstate truck driver for over 30 years. While on the road, he took some pretty nice pictures. He even won the calendar contest that his company at the time held! My mom also has a very creative side of her own when it comes to photography. I wanted to be able to share their photos alongside mine, without having to create separate pages or sites for them. However, my mom was concerned that if I did that, it would take away from my own blog, but I reassured her that I could separate mine and theirs with no problem. With that in mind, my plan was to change the name of the site to take my name off of it. The first name proposed was Means Family Photography. I was prepared to use that name, but then I thought the word "family" made it sound like we specialize in family photography. I wouldn't have minded offering that service once the site took off and had more viewership, but I wanted to keep it simple and open to other types of photography.
 
The Launch of Lone Star Snapshots
 
I thought, "How about something Texas related?" There is so much to see and do here, and Texas is home to some of the most picturesque country in the world. So, after another few days of thinking of a new name, I launched Lone Star Snapshots, which was to be a site for "Texas history, scenery, and more".

 

 

 

 

It was intended to replace Justin Means Photography, and feature things that, in my opinion, make our home state of Texas great, such as the wide-open spaces, food, culture, people and cities, both big and small. My intention was to visit one new town every month for a "Texas Town of the Month" feature, where I would share some of the things that made that particular place or town unique, plus give a brief history on it as well. In hopes of future growth, viewership and possibly selling some photography of our own, in June 2017, I turned Lone Star Snapshotsinto an LLC (Limited Liability Company). Unfortunately, due to my work and school commitments at the time, Lone Star Snapshots was short lived. The website was taken down in October of 2017 and I brought back Justin Means Photography soon after. Shortly after that, I filed paperwork to change the name of the LLC to Justin Means Photography, LLC. The LLC was in operation for just 16 months before it was disbanded in October of 2018. After the closure of the LLC, I continued to post blogs and pictures to the site and Facebook off and on sporadically for another two years before I took the site down again, along with all the social media pages.

In July of 2022, I decided to bring back Justin Means Photography again. Only this time, instead of just posting photos, I was learning how to do mobile live event streaming!

 

My interest in live streaming started from watching the freedom protests & trucker convoy in Canada in February of 2022, followed soon after here in the states. The coverage that the various live streamers were capturing was fascinating and fun to watch at times! If there was nothing of interest happening that particular day, some of the streamers would break from the regular coverage to go to various other events like rallies and community events in surrounding areas. Watching these different streams every day, I said to myself, "Hey, that looks like fun. I can do that too!" So, I studied what programs they used and how they interacted with their chat, downloaded the software and tried my hand at it.

 

After a few successful test streams, I formally launched the Justin Means Photography YouTube channel. The Sparks of Freedom 4th of July fireworks show in Farmersville, Texas was my first official live stream. I would continue to go live with other events in North Texas, including the Plano Balloon Festival in September, Farmersville's Old Time Saturday parade in October, and some severe weather coverage as well. There was just one minor detail that was bugging me. The name of the page was still Justin Means Photography, and nearly all of my content since relaunch was videography, not photography. I was enjoying the live streaming, but didn't want to abandon photography completely either. How could I reach a bigger audience, plus have a platform for photography, videography and live streaming, plus maybe something else down the road? After much thought, the answer was clear. Another rebranding!
 
The Launch of All You Can See Photography
 
My original plan back in 2017 before I launched Lone Star Snapshots was to take my name out completely, in hopes of attracting a bigger audience, and to possibly include other people too, such as my parents, or other guest photographers, bloggers and/or live streamers. Another idea I had was to have separate pages and social media accounts for the photography and videography, in case someone wasn't interested in the live streams, but would rather just see photos instead, or vice versa. So, I finally decided to go ahead with it all. After about a week of driving myself crazy trying to find names that weren't already taken, and when repeated back to myself, I didn't hate, I thought of one that surprisingly didn't appear to be taken by anyone. It was finally settled. All You Can See Photography!

 

 

 

All You Can See Media (and TV) is born
 
The relaunch of Justin Means Photography as All You Can See Photography was complete. Now, I just needed to figure out what to do with the videography and live streaming side of things. In keeping with the 'All You Can See' theme, All You Can See TV was born!

 

 

 

I also figured I needed a main site to consolidate everything under, and I was strongly considering adding news coverage into the streaming and social media platforms as well. On January 7, 2023, All You Can See Media was officially launched!

 

 

 

Soon after, the All You Can See TV website was launched on January 12th, and the All You Can See Photography site on January 18th, 2023. Shortly after launching all three sites, I quickly realized that having multiple websites with multiple social media accounts was proving to not only be unnecessary, but a bit difficult to manage. As a result, in February 2023, I merged All You Can See TV and Photography's social media accounts and websites under All You Can See Media, with the exception of the video/live streaming channels on YouTube, Rumble and Twitch which remained as All You Can See TV. I also updated all the original logos to match the main All You Can See Media logo.

 

 

The first official All You Can See TV live event stream was broadcast on Facebook, YouTube, Twitter (now X), and Twitch on January 21, 2023 from White Rock Lake in Dallas, Texas at the Lady of White Rock Lake Ghost Hunt, hosted by Haunted Rooms America.
 
In December 2023, I simplified things a little more by changing the All You Can See TV (YouTube, Rumble, Twitch and Kick) accounts to All You Can See Media, however all live streams and video were still broadcast as All You Can See TV.
 
A New Direction?

As 2023 was nearing its end, and 2024 began, I was heavily conflicted on what direction I wanted to take All You Can See Media. I wasn't sure if I wanted to make photography and videography the main focus, or keep doing news, severe weather coverage, live studio shows and/or other content as well. So, after the live coverage of the total solar eclipse on April 8, 2024, I decided to put All You Can See Media under a temporary hiatus, with a tentative relaunch in January 2025. After a lot of thought, and weighing the pros and cons of doing various other content, I decided that keeping things simple would be the best option for the future. As a result, I intended on consolidating the photography and videography under a new name, dropping 'Media', and relaunching as All You Can See Photography and Videography.

 

 

On January 1, 2025, I changed the website, email and all of our social media accounts to reflect the new name, but after a few days had passed, I was still feeling a bit indecisive, and wondering whether or not I had made a mistake. After months of uncertainty, I decided to change everything back to the way it was. On March 5th, 2025, All You Can See Media relaunched, with a slightly updated logo. But sadly, that’s about as far as it went.

 

 

 

 

Up to that point, I had put a lot of time, money and effort into All You Can See Media, but by then, after nearly two years with a lot of work and not much to show for it, I found it hard to find the motivation to keep it going. After months of indecisiveness on my part, changing things around and promising content that I hadn’t delivered, I figured that my followers were either bored, or just forgot about it completely anyway. So in September 2025, I quietly shut down All You Can See Media.

Back to the Beginning…

Even though All You Can See Media was now gone, and my motivation to do any more live event streaming gone with it, I still wanted a place where I could post my photography and the occasional video as well. The obvious choice was to go full circle, back to the beginning. Justin Means Photography & Videography was launched (or relaunched, again!) in October 2025. 

A Renewed Focus on Photography (and Videography)

My photography will focus on, but will not be limited to landscapes and cityscapes, nature (including animals and birds in flight), aerial and drone, night and astrophotography. I’ll also post short stories behind the photos on my social media pages, and the website blog. My main goals are to eventually sell prints through the Shootproof photo gallery, work towards a degree in fine art or commercial photography, and also towards professional certification with PPA (Professional Photographers of America).

My videography focus will be non-live videos, showing different places and points of interest. Live streams will be on a rare occasion, but if I decide to do any, they will be edited for time and content shortly after they air. One of my future plans that goes back to my old Lone Star Snapshots page, is visiting different towns here in Texas, giving a little background and history about the place, along with some drone footage. I still want to follow through with my goal to visit all 250+ courthouses in Texas!
